It is our pleasure to recommend Paul Gallop and Men At Work as general contractors and project managers. We worked with them to remodel our second floor and put a third floor on our 100 year old home in the Annex, Toronto and we couldn’t have been more delighted with the process and the result.
From our first meeting with Paul we were struck by how easy he was to work with. We felt that all our concerns and questions were carefully considered and clearly addressed and really appreciated Paul’s blend of down-to-earth plain speaking and his high level of professionalism. We had some ideas for our project and Paul and his people listened, and then came back with suggestions that took our needs into account and offered thoughtful improvements as well. Having lived in the space for over a year now, we can really say that it was intelligently and beautifully designed.
Our Project Manager Daniel was a real joy to work with. Very attentive – prompt and effectual. And also just a really nice guy who we enjoyed talking to! (Which was important, because we saw and talked to him a lot!) we felt very comfortable asking him any of our (dumbest) questions and raising our (pettiest) concerns. All the people we encountered from Men At Work were professional, courteous and great at their jobs.
The project ran up against the inevitable hiccups but what stands out for us about these experiences is how Men At Work handled them. They were quick to act, up-front and generous and in their resolution of the problem and left us feeling really well taken care of.
Even after our project was completed, Men At Work have maintained their relationship with us, standing behind their work and freely offering any needed tweaks and upkeep. Through this process we came to realize how much you have to trust your contractor. From the very start, we had a great feeling about Men At Work, and that feeling proved out again and again. We have a beautiful home that was completed in time, in budget, with minimal hassle and quality results. So yeah, we like these guys.
